The luxury of listening to Mathias Goerne alongside Angela Denoke under the baton of Thomas Hengelbrock promises to be another unforgettable evening, with the additional guarantee of the presence of the Balthasar-Neumann-Chor und Ensemble. And all the more so if it involves the musical, intellectual and spiritual legacy of Richard Wagner, who bequeathed in his last opera, Parsifal, the testimony of his complex philosophy combining Buddhism, Christianity, medieval tradition and philosophy to create a work in which time and space are merged. To commemorate this Wagner year, Hengelbrock has had the original instruments from its premiere in 1882 rebuilt.
